Down is a downstream by-product of waterfowl and poultry industry; down is also the lightest and warmest nature insulation. KL DOWN purchases raw down materials from waterfowl and poultry industry all over the world to increase farmers’ incomes and also reduce the burden of the environment. Compared down with synthetic fabric, synthetic fabric produces 4KG carbon emissions per kilogram, while down merely produces 0.9KG carbon emissions per kilogram. In the down and feather industry, there is a massive demand about water from collecting raw material to producing products. With the changes of the environment, the issue about water resources has become more and more important because water resources have become more and more scarce and face the problem of uneven distribution. World Economic Forum warned that the world economy would collapse if people keep wasting water without controlling, and water foot prints would become a huge concern after carbon foot prints.
Thus, KL DOWN set up wastewater treatment standard and recycling facilities in all production processes and hired professional technicians to manage our operation. We use biodegradable detergent for our down and feather products in our washing process, and the wastewater produced in the process can be recycled and reused again after treating microbial treatment. Moreover, the whole wastewater treatment in KL DOWN complies with local environmental regulations and is also certificated by bluesign® standard.
